Is this the year you decided you needed to take control of your health, find a way to de-stress or find balance in your life? Or perhaps you’re curious about metaphysics or beginning a spiritual journey.

Yoga Basics introduces you to the benefits and joys of practicing yoga. A regular yoga practice increases your strength, mobility and flexibility and awareness of staying in the present.

In this 6-week course, you’ll learn:

  • fundamental yoga postures and how to put them together for sun salutations in week 6, along with mini sequences
  • various breathing techniques used during a practice and for stress management
  • how to use meditation and relaxation techniques to quiet the mind
  • yoga philosophy and how yoga can be incorporated in our daily lives

Safety will be emphasized and students can expect a slow pace with detailed instructions. Course taught by Danette Watt and Andrea Chancey. Together, they have more than five years’ teaching experience and hundreds of hours of training.
