Since 2013, the studio at Be Well Now (now The Yoga Connection) and West East Yoga have partnered to provide River Bend residents with yoga teacher training.

When you sign up for our teacher training certification, you’re getting decades of experience and knowledge. Founded by Dr. Jaime Sanchez, ND, West East Yoga School is the oldest yoga school in St. Louis. The Yoga Connection is an established studio, managed by Danette Watt, a 2014 graduate of West East Yoga.

Who are my teachers? What will I learn?

Our program is taught primarily in the Sivananda tradition. This approach is complemented by other styles of Hatha yoga, giving the student the opportunity to develop a solid traditional practice. Anatomy, yoga philosophy and ethics, and teaching methodology are also included in the curriculum.

Dr. Jaime Sanchez is the lead teacher and Dan Fazio, DC, teaches anatomy and physiology. Andrea Chancey, 500Hr graduate of West East Yoga, will teach Friday evenings. Students also will get a class in Kundalini yoga by SiriAtma Kaur. Other teachers will guest teach as they lend their experience and expertise.

How long is the program? What is the cost?

The program runs 10 months, February – November (begins in March 2020). Generally meeting the first weekend of the month, dates will be adjusted for holidays. Three or four meetings will be in St. Louis.

Tuition for the 200 YTT course is $2,300. A deposit of $250 is required (leaving a tuition balance of $2,050) and payment plans are available.
